Message from Susan Conley Goltz, Editor-in-Chief
"Time flies when you're having fun!" Ten years have passed since the launch of DesignNY. This realization is most apparent when I look at the photographs of my children that have appeared on this page since the beginning of the publication. All of us have experienced transitions in this past decade and these changes and choices are reflected in our homes. Families, growing or shrinking, often necessitate modifications in our housing needs. For some people this could involve the purchase of a new home with additional and necessary space, while others desire downsizing, less maintenance and a move to a quieter setting. Some choose to move from the
suburbs to the city while others wish to create space within their existing homes to accommodate their ever-changing needs. Articles in this, our Tenth Anniversary Edition, address these subtle to major transitions, as mirrors of
Our ten year anniversary also offers a wonderful opportunity to reflect on the growth and changes of the publication. Over this decade we have expanded our feature articles beyond beautiful homes; in addition, we have highlighted some of the sleekest office buildings and their interiors.
Thanks to our committed readers and to the talented professionals who participate and support us, DesignNY gratefully enjoys continued growth and remains the premier design resource guide in our region. We aspire to continue the tradition of connecting our fine readers with the capable professionals who inspire us with their innovative creativity.
Enjoy this issue of DesignNY!
