(Wheatfield, August 31, 2009)  Calamar has begun a new tradition at The Woodlands Residential Village by offering free outdoor concerts for its residents.  The concerts have been dubbed “Wednesdays at The Woodlands” and take place on an island peninsula that sits on a 6-acre man made lake creating a picturesque and quaint venue for the musicians and spectators.

The Woodlands Residential Village is a $30 Million dollar investment that Calamar has developed in their 120-acre mixed used park, The Woodlands Corporate Center.  The Woodlands Residential Village is comprised of independent living senior apartments for those age 55 plus in The Woodlands Senior Apartments and the soon to be completed Forestview Senior Apartments (slated for a January 2010 opening).  These two properties combine to offer over 200 one and two bedroom apartments that offer various floor plans and rent structures to accommodate a variety of income levels and include heat, water, cable and much more within the rent.  There is also Willow Housing, a People, Inc. property consisting of 48  one-bedroom apartments for income restricted seniors age 62 plus.  Rounding out the Residential Village are thirty-four private patio homes that surround the lake and are independently owned.

The concerts were met with great enthusiasm from all the residents who can join the musicians up on the patio at the waters edge, bring a lawn chair and sit on the outskirts or even listen from their apartment or patio home.  “There is so much excitement from our residents for this program”, said Sam Reeder, Assistant Director of Senior Services for Calamar.  “Our residents have voiced immense enjoyment and delight with the concerts so far.  It’s been a great hit!”

Located just minutes from Amherst at the Niagara/Erie County borders, The Woodlands Corporate Center and The Woodlands Residential Village represents over $100,000,000.00 total investment in Niagara County offering the residential community, build-to-suit land opportunities as well as multi-tenant facilities for commercial, industrial, manufacturing, office and retail clients.

The “Wednesdays at the Woodlands” concerts will continue through the end of September and next year will commence in June.  For more information on the The Woodlands Residential Village call 692-9663.
