The Affordable Care Act is Confusing for Small Employers

 A Message From the President

The release earlier this month regarding the final reporting forms that employers are required to collect to be in compliance with the Affordable Care Act is causing small employers confusion and angst.  Many of our members complain that they do not have the appropriate staff or time to devote to this effort but they are committed to providing benefits for their employees.  The Amherst Chamber can help.  Instead of worrying about the Offer of Coverage Codes, Safe Harbor Codes, 1094-C and 1095-C forms and your compliance or potential penalties, our staff can provide your employees with individual or small group insurance.  For no additional cost, we can offer dozens of plans, individually customized to your firm or that meet the needs from a benefit or cost factor for your staff.

If you are a small business employer or sole proprietor, we can provide you a full menu of insurance products.  We can bill you or bill the employee.  You can enhance their pay/compensation and send them to us and we will work with them to select the appropriate health insurance plan and take the responsibility off your shoulders.  The Amherst Chamber of Commerce created this benefit division in response to small business concerns and difficulty in identifying the appropriate plans at a cost effective rate.  We offer Independent Health, Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Univera products at all price points for individuals or small groups.  Three of our staff members are licensed brokers with significant experience and ready and able to begin assisting you today.

Call Katy Murray at the Chamber, 632-6905, to learn more.  We do not outsource our insurance; our service is a benefit of your membership.
