Crisis Management and Social Media


Overview

This workshop gives an overview of why every business should have crisis management training and a crisis plan. A carefully and successfully built reputation can crumble overnight from forces completely out of your control and Bell will explain how to handle it. He will also show how crisis that brings your business to a standstill can be an opportunity for leadership and growth.

Class Instructors

 

Stephen H. Bell

Stephen W. Bell has covered some of New York's most important stories. Before joining EMA, he was most recently Editorial Page Editor of The Buffalo News. Steve's analyses and opinions helped affect public policy and influenced state, local and national politics. His insights have particular value, based as they are on years as a reporter, senior editor and news media opinion leader. During 20 years at The News—upstate's largest newspaper—Steve also served as Managing Editor, City Editor and Business Editor. Prior to joining The News, Steve was a reporter for The Associated Press in both Albany and Buffalo. His career began at the Stamford (CT) Advocate. As a senior member of EMA's company-wide public affairs practice, Steve counsels our clients regarding policy, media relations, crisis management, community and regulatory matters, as well as assisting in a full range of public relations services. His client experience includes:

Steve received his B.A. from Dartmouth College and his M.A. in European History from University at Albany. He is actively involved in the Western New York community, serving as Director of United Way of Buffalo and Erie County, Director of National Urban League, Director of ECMC Lifeline Foundation, and a board member for the 2010 Empire State Games and GreenOptions Buffalo.
