MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
Chairman Earl Wells discusses the completion of the Strategic Plan and highlights our areas of concentration. He also announced an addition to our staff - Christine Langenfeld who will head up all things operational. Christine will serve as the administrative lead for the Board of Directors and Executive Committee. She will also manage the support staff and day to day financial functions. I am sure that her expertise will assist us in refining our operations.
The Amherst Chamber of Commerce has operated with a small but dedicated staff for many years. However, as we expand our Strategy and direct our attention to a diverse group of initiatives, we recognize that we need to re-organize our employee pool. Each function within the chamber requires skill sets that align with our goals. Currently, we are identifying the actions we must mobilize to be successful in meeting our benchmarks and coordinating job descriptions that will fulfill those obligations. Our members' assistance and patience as we work through this process will be much appreciated.
We will continue to communicate with you on a regular basis. This newsletter, First Monday, will always be a great vehicle to utilize to keep abreast of our activities. Make sure you open our emails - they keep you aware of our events and programs and services. Our new software will allow us the capability of segmenting our audience so that you will eventually receive only emails pertaining to the news you request. Individualized communications will keep our segmented emails from getting lost in the noise. That is a work in progress. Like us on Facebook and follow us on Twitter. We will increase our utilization of these communication methods as the year progresses.
As always, your feedback on our activities is welcome. Email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with your comments. The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is one of the strongest business organizations in the state and much of our strength is attributable to the support of our members. For that, I thank you.
