MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT
The Chamber Completes Strategic Plan - On to Staff Reorganization
The Board of Directors recently completed a very lengthy strategic plan process. You have read about it countless times as we navigated all the phases. We are pleased with the outcome and are ready to do the staff reorganization necessary to achieve our goals.
Simultaneous to updating our organizational strategy, we were developing a new website. This state of the art, user friendly site will launch in the next month and include our 2017 and Beyond Strategic Plan. Our focus will continue to be on Economic Development, Public Policy, Young Professionals, organizational sustainability and Small Business Services.
Over 75% of our members are categorized as a small business; Small Business Services and our ability to continuously monitor the needs of this demographic and respond with programs and services to meet those needs remains one of our core objectives. We recognize, and it was validated by the responses we received in our surveys, that businesses from all across the Buffalo Niagara region join us because of our varied services. To make sure we stay at the top of our game, we are currently searching for a Member Services Manager that can not only direct our current menu of services but lead our efforts to identify gaps in the marketplace and launch new, market driven services. The position requires strong strategic skills, creativity and customer service expertise.
As we grow our offerings, we will require more administrative support. The integration of our new Membership Management software provides us with an excellent tool to track service utilization and member engagement. This position will provide that support.
Everyone who reads this column has heard me state, "the staff at the Amherst Chamber of Commerce consistently punches above our weight." That means that we use our limited staff resources to provide numerous services, events, business support, advocacy and leadership. We are a great team who is devoted to assisting our members reach their goals. Our strong membership renewals and new member sales is a testament to our dedication.

As we grow, we will continue to dedicate the expanded resources to our members to ensure their prosperity.
