Emerging Business Leaders Launch Coffee Connections
The Emerging Business Leaders will launch Coffee Connections, its newest initiative, on Tuesday, January 15, 2013. Coffee Connections is a series of meetings for motivated, social, young business leaders who want to make connections in a casual setting that promotes discussion beyond simple introductions and small talk. The event will take place on the third Tuesday of every month from 8:00 a.m.-9:00 a.m. at the Corner Bakery Cafe located at 1551 Niagara Falls Boulevard in Amherst.
The first portion of Coffee Connections will feature open networking and an opportunity for everyone in the room to give their 30-second commercial. This is an opportunity for attendees to give their elevator pitch so other participants can learn more about one another and the work they do for their businesses. The second part of Coffee Connections will include a guest speaker presentation. These presentations include topics relevant to young professionals like social media for the workplace or information about buying a first home. The presentations are intended to provide knowledge to attendees that will further their personal and professional development.
Essentially, Coffee Connections is designed to spark meaningful discussions between participants. Everyone is encouraged to get to know each other by sharing best practices, information about their businesses and new or interesting concepts and ideas.
Rachael Brown of Employer Services Corporation will be January's Coffee Connections guest presenter. Rachael will discuss the process of goal setting by showing participants techniques used by top-level athletes, successful business people and high-achievers in all industries.
The Emerging Business Leaders group is sponsored by the Canisius College Graduate Program. There is no cost for members of Emerging Business Leaders to attend Coffee Connections. Coffee and breakfast items are available for purchase at the cafe. Anyone who wishes to purchase breakfast should arrive early. If you would like to attend, click here or call 632-6905.
