Public Affairs Council to Begin E-Newsletter

The Legislative Agenda Circulated- Now What?

 

The Public Affairs Council at the Amherst Chamber of Commerce created and distributed a Legislative Agenda to our membership in January.  This document identifies the issues the Chamber will follow for the next year.  Beginning next month, we will be launching a quarterly e-publication to keep our members informed on the status of each issue.

 

The Legislative Agenda is designed to be a living, breathing document.  The staff and Public Affairs Council will continue to monitor movement on each issue at all levels of government.  We will report both the movement and our participation in that movement so you can be well informed about public policy that impacts your business and quality of life and also understand the chambers leadership role in driving policy.

 

While the Legislative Agenda deals with the bulk of our advocacy, from time to time an issue arises that we couldn't anticipate but requires our attention.  If you are aware of such an issue, please forward it to ccampbell@amherst.org and we will be sure to review it at our next Public Affairs Council meeting and advise you of our intended action and position.    Also contact Caitlin if you would like to become more active in our Public Affairs Council.
