EBL Advisory Board Welcomes

New Members

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce's program for young professionals, the Emerging Business Leaders (EBL) is off to a fast start in 2012. Its first event of the year, a tour and tasting at Flying Bison Brewery, sold out in less than a day. February will feature the first annual Emerging Business Leaders Awards Gala on the 22nd at Salvatore's  Italian  Gardens (for more information on the gala, read this article in First Monday). In the Spring, the EBL will host a panel discussion for all chamber members on the positive impact of professional sports teams for economic development in  Western New York.

As you can see, this is a very diverse programming selection from a unique division of the Amherst Chamber. Leading the development of the EBL and its events is an advisory board made up of dynamic young professionals from around the  Western New York region. The board represents different industries and business sizes and is attuned to the needs and wants of the young professionals in our community.

To join the leadership group currently serving on the advisory board, the Emerging Business Leaders are pleased to announce the addition of seven young professionals to the group's advisory board. The following individuals were voted and approved at the board's January meeting:

                • William Charland - Finger Lakes Technologies Group
                • Allison Conte - Eric Mower & Associates
                • Mike Gallo - The  Buffalo News
                • Erin Johnson - Ingram Micro
                • Dan Keating - National Grid
                • Peter Obersheimer - Phillips Lytle LLP
                • Matthew Smyczynski - Bank of  America Merrill Lynch

They will join the advisory board for a two-year term beginning in February.
