Advocacy Issues & Economic Development Projects
The Amherst Chamber of Commerce actively seeks to create and maintain a positive economic, political and social climate in Amherst, thereby making our community a great place to live, work and conduct business.
The Chamber is routinely asked to support particular economic development projects and/or pieces of legislation in the Town of Amherst and surrounding region. These requests are put through a vetting process which includes going through the Issues Committee of the Advocacy Council. This council makes reccommendations to the Advocacy Advisory Council, which then forwards its own recommendation onto the Chamber's Board of Directors for approval.
