UB and the Town of Amherst Extend Shared Vision for a 'Knowledge-based Community'
UB and the Town of Amherst have signed a written agreement of cooperation for development of land adjacent to UB's North Campus consistent with the town's Bicentennial Comprehensive Plan and UB's Comprehensive Physical Plan. The memorandum, signed by Amherst Town Suprevisor Barry A. Weinstein and UB President John B. Simpson, establishes procedures and guidelines for joint planning and cooperation between the town and UB.

UB Receives National Recognition for Community Service
UB has been named to the 2009 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll, the highest federal recognition a college or university can receive for its commitment to volunteering, service-learning and civic engagement. More than 5,000 students and staff contributed approximately 323,000 hours of service to the community last year.
