Councils & Committees
The Amherst Chamber of Commerce prides itself on being an inclusive organization. We strive to continuously offer our members an opportunity to get involved and affect change and action. The Chamber currently operates two working councils: the Advocacy Council and the Business Resource Council.Membership in each council is on a voluntary basis however members go through a vetting process specific to each council. Members also server for specific term limits on each council.
The goals and objectives of the Advocacy Council are to monitor and report on public policy that has a commonality with the business community; to develop an Annual Legislative Agenda; and to host the Annual Legislative Reception.
The Business Resource Council is a group of business professionals who volunteer their time to serve as an "advice giving" council to the Amherst Chamber on issues affecting both the Chamber and the greater business community. This council oversees the Chamber's annual Small Business Awards Luncheon and also aids in the development of new Chamber programs and benefits.
