Update on the Business Resource Council
The Amherst Chamber of Commerce's Business Resource Council (BRC) is committed to bringing new and varied opportunities to all Chamber members. From their sponsorship of our Member Education Workshops to the annual Small Business Awards Luncheon, the BRC believes in supporting our members and helping grow their business.
The summer has been a busy time for BRC members as they plan new opportunities for growth and business services for our members. Council members are continuing current efforts, they are also beginning to update the Chamber's Small Business Resource Guide and working to create a New Member Liaison sub-committee. The biggest new undertaking from the BRC this summer is the planning of a job fair and networking event for February 2011.
Amherst remains a hub for business growth and activity for companies of all sizes. While GEICO remains a hiring force in the community, the recent announcement of growth at Local Edge, formerly the Talking Phone Book and Ingram Micro has once again proven Amherst is a prime location for businesses to expand and diversify.
The two day affair will be kicked off by a networking event the first day that will be open to all Chamber Members and act as the month's Business-After-Hours event. The job fair will be held the next day with employers searching for the ‘perfect fit' for their growing companies.
Job fair sponsorship opportunities are currently available. If you are interested in sponsoring the event or becoming a participating company, please contact Caitlin Campbell, Member Services & Communications Manager at 716.632.6905 or ccampbell@amherst.org. Sponsorship opportunities are filling fast, so please call today!
