CHAMBER LAUNCHES FIFTH NETWORKING GROUP

The Amherst Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the creation of a new Professional Networking (Pro-Net) Group which is in direct response to member demand.  This newest group will join the four other Pro-Net Groups currently in operation at the Chamber.

When a business joins the Chamber, they often check "networking" as their number one reason for joining.  When a person says networking, what they really mean is that they want to grow their professional wealth.  Whether the Chamber helps an organization to save a dollar or earn a dollar through networking, they benefit.

Pro-Net Groups are industry exclusive and provide a forum for business members to expand the market base for their products or services.  Each group meets twice a month to trade leads, make new contacts, market products or services and exchange ideas and solutions to common problems.  Pro-Nets contain over 30 Chamber members each and meet twice a month on a set schedule.

"Given the local economy and our relative inexperience with marketing and sales, we are extremely happy with the results of our exposure in the Pro-Net Group," said Chamber member Kathy King, Manager of Minute Print.  "Not only have the new orders translated to additional sales dollars, there are also many intangible results to belonging to Pro-Net such as new customers, new orders and an unlimited potential for increase in both in the future.  Our Pro-Net contacts have helped us become more aggressive and up-to-date with our marketing program as well."

The Chamber is currently collecting data and tracking the dollar value of business being conducted among Pro-Net members.  Several Pro-Net members have told the Chamber that the largest percentage of their annual sales comes as a result of their participation in the networking group.
